Last year was a challenging year for credit. 2020 was the year NAV lending finally came into its own, as funds took advantage of these facilities to ‘play offense’ and increase their buying power. On January 1, 2021, the Corporate Transparency Act (“the Act”) was passed into law by incorporation into the National Defense Authorization Act. This marks an important step in bringing the USA into compliance with international transparency standards in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.
