Securities Class Action Roundup: Top Settlements & Disbursements (Q2, 2026)

Through the first six months of 2026, we’ve already seen 10 securities class action settlements exceeding $100 million – this after four new recovery opportunities reached that threshold in the second quarter. For comparison, only eight U.S. class actions reached the nine-figure mark in the 2025 calendar year.

Largest Class Action Settlements (Q2:26)

  1. NJBOS Credit Suisse ($300 million)
  2. Estee Lauder Companies ($210 million)
  3. Danaher Corporation ($172.5 million)
  4. FirstEnergy Corp. Fair Fund ($100 million)
  5. Shoals Technologies Group ($70 million)

There were 28 new settlements for $1.1 billion in Q2, highlighted by four 9-figure recovery opportunities.

The largest of these cases is a $300 million restitution fund established by the New Jersey Bureau of Securities. Investors that acquired certain Credit Suisse RMBS trust certificates prior to Dec. 18, 2013, may be eligible to recover a portion of their losses under the settlement.

In Q2, we saw 39 settled cases pay out roughly $1.27 billion to eligible shareholders, with an average administration time of 576 days (from claim deadline to distribution).
