Senior Staff Accountant

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will use your strong accounting skills and experience to perform various accounting activities and financial analyses, while also owning accounts payable processing and accounting for the people-oriented costs of running our business as well as banking transactions.

We are seeking a motivated self-starter with strong accounting skills, including experience with accounting, accounts payable and general ledger systems, to handle accounts payable, and employee reimbursements as well as the associated accounting, banking transactions and other accounting and financial analysis needs.

As a Senior Staff Accountant at FRT, you will:

Perform various accounting activities and financial analyses

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for the company’s US and international divisions
  • Cash and bank account reconciliations
  • Work closely with members of the accounting department on transactional accounting, mainly accounts payable
  • Recording and maintaining the prepaid and accrued expense schedules and associated general ledger entries
  • Prepare supporting documents, spreadsheets, and financial information for external auditors
  • Assist the Manager in completing departmental tasks and other ad hoc reporting and projects, as needed
  • Communicate in a timely manner with different cross functional teams within and outside of finance to ensure information is gathered in a timely basis
  • Assist with on-going effort in accounting software improvement
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Work closely with the Remittance team to process client payments and wire transactions in a timely and accurate manner

Account for people-oriented costs of running the business

  • Review and process employee T&E via Concur, ensuring employee expenses are in line with company policies and procedures
  • reconciliation of international employee expenses and reconciliation of inter-company trial balances
  • Calculate employee-related expenses and benefits allocation across the employee base
  • Maintain and allocate the employee cost file, including the allocation of capitalization of internal employee costs for development

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting and 2-3 years’ work experience (ideally in both public and private accounting);
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP – experience with consolidations preferred;
  • Advanced skills in Excel;
  • Familiarity with accounting software and programs – Microsoft Great Plains, Management Reporter, Jet Reports, and Concur, would be highly preferred;
  • The ability to meet a regular and constant stream of deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation, with strong analytical, problem solving, and creative thinking skills;
  • A collaborative style, prioritizing collaboration over credit, with an interest in building strong relationships with peers across corporate functions;
  • Intellectual curiosity, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous growth; and

Compensation: base salary is experience dependent and can range from $80,000 – $100,000 a year (based in MA). FRT also offers an annual bonus.
