The global securities litigation landscape continues to grow and evolve. In 2019, we saw an oversupply of capital seeking investment in non-US securities and antitrust litigation – 43 new actions were brought in 9 different jurisdictions. Australia and Taiwan continued to be the most active countries. We also saw a resurgence in Europe including Greece, Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland. While global securities litigation cases have been prevalent in recent years, some noticeable trends emerged in 2019 that look poised to continue.
